Chorale Bel Canto

Sunday, September 7, 2008

In May, I attended a concert by the Orange County Catholic Chorale and the Meistersingers, who performed Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass.  I was very moved and inspired by the concert.  As I read and listened to the words of the mass, it really lifted me to a place of worship, and I decided at that time that I really wanted to sing with a group like this.  I love the full chorus with orchestra, the classical repertoire, the quality of the music, and the fact that their focus is on sacred texts.  I spoke with the director of the OCCC, and learned that their next season isn't going to start until January 2009, so I then decided to contact the Chorale Bel Canto, which is based in Whittier.  Yesterday I auditioned for Chorale Bel Canto, and was accepted.  They have an exciting season lined up!  Here is a rundown of their upcoming concerts:

I'm really looking forward to this.  Rehearsals start on Monday night.

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
