Reading Plan

Saturday, January 1, 2011

As we begin the new year, consider devoting a portion of each day to seek God in His Word.  Below is a reading plan that I have used successfully for many years.

The Old Testament is broken up into 2 parts.  The first part covers the historical books, and the second part mostly covers the prophets.  You can do this either as a 2-year plan, or you can do it as a 1-year plan by reading one passage from each section.

I've provided two New Testament plans, as well:  a 6-month plan, which will take you through the New Testament twice in one year, or a 1-year plan.  Use whichever you think will work best for you.

The Psalms and Proverbs are separated out; this plan takes you through each of these once per month.

Feel free to download these plans and use them.  I recommend printing them out, folding the Old and New Testament plans in half, and using each of these as bookmarkers, so you'll never need to look for your place.  Sometimes I laminate the Proverbs marker because it's so small.  You can do that to Psalms as well, if you like.

May the Lord bless you as you seek Him.
